Meet the Midwife: Adria Fuller LDM, CPM

I am a licensed direct-entry midwife who has completed the National Midwifery Certification (CPM), Oregon (LDM), and Texas (LM) state licensing requirements for practicing midwifery. I hold a midwifery license in the states of Oregon and Texas; as well as CPM credentials. I have been attending births in differing capacities since 2002. My related education includes DONA Doula training and graduation from the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program (a 3-year didactic midwifery course with clinical training). Additionally, I hold a degree in Mathematics and a BS in Graphic Communication.
I have attended births in diverse settings including hospital, birth center and home birth. My midwifery care has been shaped and influenced by exposure to a variety of disciplines; learning from licensed midwives, nurse midwives, obstetricians, naturopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists, and others. I have lived in the Columbia River Gorge since 2004, and have enjoyed serving women and families in childbirth in this area since 2011. I have three children of my own, two born at home here in the Columbia Gorge. The majority of births I have attended have been out-of-hospital: home and birth center.
My philosophy rests in my understanding that God created the female body to bear children. Childbirth is a natural process and yet every aspect of pregnancy, birth and lactation is no less than a miracle.
My desire at Columbia Gorge Midwifery (CGM) is to build a community of strong, healthy families - one miraculous birth at a time. I am committed to listening, encouraging, educating and respecting each growing family as we build relationships.
Midwifery care with CGM includes comprehensive care from the prenatal to newborn stages for women and families who desire home birth. In addition, I can provide great referrals for chiropractic care, medical consultations, massage, doula services, pelvic floor rehab, birth photography and more.
During your care, most of your appointments will take place in the office. All of your labs can be drawn at your appointment, when necessary. You will have one prenatal home visit toward the end of your pregnancy to ensure that I know how to find your home, and am able to see the birthing environment. You will also have a home visit in the first few days after your birth to check the well-being of mom and baby.
CGM serves women and families in the Columbia River Gorge (Mosier, Parkdale, Hood River, Cascade Locks, Corbett, Gresham and surrounding areas). To learn more about the care provided, including fees and midwife availability, please use the contact form to schedule a complimentary consultation, or to request information. We can discuss your questions and desires in detail when we meet for your free consultation.
